Apprenticeship Programmes
At Müller we are passionate about growing our talent through our range of Apprenticeship Programmes. As an Apprentice at Müller you will have your own tailored learning journey as part of your development programme, and get to experience the breadth of our UK business and career opportunities.

Engineering Apprenticeship

This 4-year Engineering Apprenticeship Programme will see you based at one of our dairies within the Engineering team. Over the 4 years, you will gain experience of the various Engineering functions we have at our sites (for example maintenance; services & utilities; automation), and you will be encouraged to practice what you learn from these functions with the support of your workplace mentor.
This experience gives you a fantastic way to realise your potential and get your career off to the best possible start.
You will study towards a recognised Engineering qualification, earn a highly competitive salary, develop new skills, and gain invaluable experience.

- Asset Management: keeping our manufacturing machinery maintained to ensure our filling and packing processes run as effectively as possible
- Involvement in Continuous Improvement projects, and the chance to develop your project management skills
- Fault finding and taking quick action to meet food safety standards and keep our factories running efficiently
- Being part of a team striving to achieve the highest quality products
- Highlighting concerns and ensuring products meet the agreed requirements and targets

The training will start in September 2025. This Apprenticeship combines technical training, academic study, and work-based learning, and covers all the fundamental Engineering topics you need to know, such as:
- Electrical principles and maintenance
- Mechanical maintenance to keep the factories running efficiently
- Automation
You will be supported and nurtured by workplace mentors and academic coaches.
Alongside working in one of our dairies, you will also spend time with one of our fantastic training providers, growing your knowledge and practising your skills at their facilities. Depending on your location, each year on programme this could involve a residential stay on a block release structure, or it could be day release up to 4 days a week.

North West Training Council (supporting our sites in the North & Midlands)
Telford College (supporting our three sites in Shropshire)
Bridgwater & Taunton College (supporting our sites in the South West)

GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, or National 5s, in English & Maths, plus a science/technical subject.
You should also be able to demonstrate a clear passion for Engineering.

Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship

This 2 year Apprenticeship programme is an opportunity for you to learn about every aspect of our Laboratories. As an Apprentice at Müller, you will get full support, development and training to become one of our Laboratory Technicians. In this role, you will perform effective and high quality analysis in our state of the art Laboratory on a variety of exciting brand names and customer products such as Müller Corner, Müller Rice and Müller Light, all following given methods and procedures to produce accurate and timely analytical results.

As a Laboratory Technician Apprentice you will learn how to:
- Assist with the decontamination of equipment; learn about waste management processes and procedures and how to undertake this effectively.
- You will be taught how to stock check many of our general consumable stores, and re-order where needed.
- You will also be shown how to prepare reagents, and use the lab equipment to carry out tests.
- In addition you will have the opportunity to discover general lab equipment maintenance methods.

At Müller you receive the highest standard of training supported by our champions in the field and practical training through our training provider. This is all supported and nurtured by workplace mentors and academic coaches.
The training will start in February 2025, and is delivered via a blended approach with our training provider. You will be supported with online distance learning throughout your programme, with the opportunity to attend 3 day residential blocks of study as well.
At the end of the Apprenticeship programme you will gain the following awards:
BTEC Level 3 National Certificate in Applied Science which includes, Principles and Applications of Science, Practical Scientific Procedures and Techniques

GCSE/National 5s and above in Maths, English & Science
