Work Experience
Work experience takes place in the workplace and enables young people to experience what it is like to undertake a job, while being supervised by staff. Work experience is often referred to as a ‘placement’ and can last no longer than two weeks. As an organisation, young people have the chance to take part in them from year 10 up until the last year of college

A short-term placement (one or two weeks) which is a learning experience for a young person. It is a chance for the young person to: observe a workplace and the different roles within a team by shadowing and attending team meetings, learn about what the organisation does and how it works, develop employable skills & explore a potential career path.

Work Experience allows Young People to explore career options to help them make informed choices, practice and develop employability skills such as networking, presentation, teamwork skills and gain first-hand experience of a workplace and its environment, so that they can understand what the expectations are.
